Here I am as a Dalton Academy Warbler for Dragon*Con
P.S.- Dive into DIY this summer! The weather is hot, and your accessories should be too. This seasons attire is “Beach Chic”, so please dress accordingly. Elie Tahari’s SS2011 Collection boasted a stunning and breezy beach wrap, which was the inspiration for this DIY. Whether you’re beach-bound or bouncing around town, everyone needs a bevy of beaded necklaces.
To create: reach for thin material/fabric, cut into long strips. P.S.- the thinner, the better. Cut strips, angling the top, pinch ends to thread beads through. Classic pony beads are ideal and are available in a variety of colors. Get creative with color combos and spacing to create a staggering look. Make multiple strands for the ultimate summer statement necklace.
Do It Yourself: Zipper Bracelets
Materials:
zipper to fit your wrist, jump ring, lobster clasp, drill or glue
Instructions:
Drill a tiny hole in the end of the zipper bigger enough for a jump ring, insert the jump ring to the end and attach a lobster clasp, [if you do not wish to drill you can hot glue or use e 6000 in a ventilated area], attach the lobster clasp to the zipper pull and Viola!!
!!!!!!!
Don’t forget to wear goggles of some sort when drilling through metal. Or really, when drilling through anything. I use old sunglasses if I can’t find any goggles around.
Or, if you’re not into drilling or gluing, you could sew the jump ring to the fabric at the end of the zipper. Use thick thread!
This is such a great idea! I think I will do this this weekend! :D

DIY “French Tip” manicure
Success! Deb liked my Baby Greenhalgh photo frames! Here’s the “grassy” one all glossy & finished. The “Welcome to the World” thing came from a poster someone brought in for my boss’ baby and I thought it was kinda cute. And my “stenciled” letters are supposed to look a little rough - since I think she’s having a boy and it goes well with the “grassy” thing
Custom made “Baby Greenhalgh” picture frame for Matt & Deb. I was freaking out over the project I was going to do for them and finally it hit me - frames! I usually knit or crochet something for my new parent friends but I wanted to mix it up (plus, it’s freakin hot!). Not bad, eh? Two more coming soon!
